Love is War

Love is War

A world that doesn’t exist, A world that is in a dimension far more different than ours, a world where souls lives in the outskirt of our bodies as demons that can take any form. There in this odd world live two nations. These nations once lived in harmony until one of their kinds was endangered by the other nation causing war. Between these two nations lived two lovers. A love that could never be, for they were from different nations and were never allowed to see each other ever again. As these two lovers grew from children to adults they realized how in love they were in.
They would secretly meet in a faraway place, places where anybody could feel like a king or queen of their own kingdom. A place where they could leave the war behind, it’s almost as if they had been implanted into a different world. A world with no worries, a world with no fighting, a world with only peace and prosperity. As they fell in love in this world that seemed to be forgotten, their souls also seemed to have fallen in love in a way that was not possible. Who ever thought that souls can love? They were only meant to keep the lovers alive till the very end. I guess love does cross the balance between life and death.
As the two lovers continued to secretly meet, the war came to its peak. The generals would have their only children fight to the end, in this case, the two lovers. As they both get ready for battle all they can think about is “Should I fight and kill my only lover for the honor of my nation, or shall I stand down and admit this war is not worth fighting for?” The announcement had been made. The two lovers walked into the arena frozen, afraid to take a step further. The crowd stomped their feet’s and chanted loud booms. The lovers charged at each other and fought. “Cling! Clank!” the swords intercepted, the battle had begun.
A war between two nations, a War between two lovers, a war that might not be worth fighting for. As they continue to cling to their swords this is what ran in their heads, until one lover could not stand the pressure and killed the one he loves. The sword struck straight into her heart and before she could travel to the next world all she spoke of was “why?” The father filled with grief fell to his knees and cried on her bloody chest. The lover could never forgive himself and kept asking the same question “Is love really a war worth fighting for?”

Gone

Gone
By

My name is Logan I live in a small town in Virginia with two awesome parents and an adorable 6 year old little sister Charlotte. It’s like any other ordinary day go to school, come back, do your homework, chill with friends, eat dinner, then go to bed to start the cycle all over again. I was living the life everything I ever wanted was right here.
My little sister Charlotte on the other hand made my life worth living. Her smile always made my day, her laughter was like music in my ears, and Charlotte herself was my entire world. Charlotte never cried or begged for anything in her entire life, she was always polite and when things went wrong she’ll put up a smile knowing it won’t last forever. My world all of a sudden came to an end when Charlotte started to get really sick.
Charlotte started out with a fever but then got worse to a point she couldn’t move nor talk, but when she stopped breathing that’s when mom and dad rushed her to the hospital. I hated it! All I can do is sit and watch as my little sister gets weaker and weaker by the passing hour. When Charlotte was well enough to come back home she wasn’t allowed out of the house. I knew she will never get better so the best thing was not to get too attached because if I did saying goodbye will be the hardest thing to do. For days, weeks, months I’ve ignored Charlotte as if she wasn’t even there. When people asked me about her I’ll respond “I don’t have a sister. I’m an only child”. It hurts to pretend I wish I didn’t have to.
Last night Charlotte condition worsens and was sent to the hospital again. Doctors tried all they can to cure her but it was impossible. It wasn’t long till the doctor told us that Charlotte won’t live till her next birthday which was this coming week on a Saturday. I realized that since she was going to be gone forever the least I can do is make every minute of her life worth living. We played with toys and walked in parks I made her laugh and smile. I even surprised her with a birthday party a day before her birthday. The next day I stayed by her side as she painfully tries not to leave. I grabbed her hand and sobbed. Charlotte turns her head towards me and said “Logan don’t cry I don’t want my last memory of you to be filled with sadness. Can you smile?” How can I smile in a time like this? But for her I closed my eyes and broke out a smile. She whispered something then her hand fell. I opened my eyes filled with so many tears it’s hard to hold back. Why did it have to be her? Why does my entire world need to disappear? What did I deserve for her to go? What she whispered to me kept running in my head “Thanks Logan this has been the most fun I ever had thank you”
hope you like this little short story this will be posted on my school news paper Ruff Ruff Times soon
